Best in Okaloosa is a local's guide to Okaloosa County, Florida — Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Okaloosa Island, Niceville, and Crestview. Who runs it

The guide is run by Lawless Solutions, a small web company based in Fort Walton Beach. It's a guide first and a business second: the rankings exist because they're useful, and they're the reason anyone visits at all.

How the picks are made

Picks are editorial. We look at public reputation — Google ratings and review counts, which we print next to each pick with the month we checked them, because ratings drift — plus local knowledge of who actually does good work here. No business pays to be listed, pays for a better position, or endorses this site by being listed. If a business ever sponsors a category, that page will say so in plain words at the top.

The photos on this site are scenic stock photography of the area in general. A photo on a category page is never presented as a specific business's boat, dining room, or work — the picks stand on their reputations, not on pictures.

How the request forms work

Every category page has one form. When you send it, a person at the guide reads it — not a call center, not an algorithm. We reply by email with the local pros who fit your request, their direct phone numbers, and who we'd book first, usually within one business day. We don't sell your details or send marketing email; the privacy page spells out exactly what happens to what you send.

Corrections
